Promotes the safety of Conservancy District visitors through routine patrol and enforcement activities on Conservancy District lands and water by watercraft, motor vehicle and foot patrol. Spends considerable time performing public relations activities and public education. Responds to concerns, complaints and disturbances on water and land. Enforces the provisions of the Ohio Revised Code, safe boating laws, and MWCD rules and regulations. Patrols MWCD lakes on regional basis during boating season.
Essential Duties:
Patrols Conservancy District lands and waters, investigates incidents and complaints, issues citations, executes bench warrants, works with various law enforcement agencies in investigative and preventative measures and enforces the state laws as well as the Conservancy District rules and regulations. Performs annual installation of docks and buoys in conjunction with park staff. Renders assistance to the public by providing information pertinent to conservancy district facilities, safe boating education and points of interest in the area. Administers first aid and rescue as required. Performs dock checks on lakes and maintains all related dock check records. Maintains required ranger logs, watercraft maintenance checks, supplies inventory and reports mechanical and or safety issues to appropriate supervisor. Appropriately utilizes warnings, citations and arrests to enforce state laws as well as Conservancy District rules. Schedules and instructs MWCD-sponsored boater education courses and other educational programs as directed. Compiles specified facility use statistics, keeps records, and prepares reports of area activities.
Qualifications:
High school diploma, Ohio peace officer certification, and an Ohio driver’s license required. Three to five years progressive related experienced. Must have or obtain marine patrol certification and safe boater instructor certification. Must have or obtain current CPR and first aid certification.

Job Summary:

Job performance involves the operation and use of various tools and equipment. Job also requires occasional use of various materials such as herbicides, pesticides, cleaning supplies.
Essential Duties:
Ranger responsibilities are to patrol Conservancy District lands and waters, investigate incidents and complaints, issue citations, execute bench warrants, work with various law enforcement agencies in investigative and preventative measures and enforce the state laws as well as the Conservancy District rules. Performs routine maintenance on equipment. Makes basic repairs to electrical equipment and plumbing systems. Performs routine maintenance to buildings and structures, including routine carpentry repairs. Performs grounds keeping, including tree trimming and felling.
Qualifications:
High school graduate. Ohio Peace Officer certification is required. Related maintenance experience required. Experience in park operations, mechanical equipment and or skilled trade is preferred. Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license. Some knowledge of purchasing and inventory procedures desired. Must have good communication skills and ability to work well with the public.

Job Summary:
Directs the daily operations of a Conservancy District lake park and ensures that the policies, rules, and regulations of the MWCD are followed. Manages the lands and facilities of assigned property for the provision of outdoor recreational opportunities to the public, including arranging for the regular maintenance of grounds. Coordinates law enforcement program for park.
Essential Duties:
Recruits, hires, trains, and supervises all park personnel. Coordinates park patrol and law enforcement activities. Supervises, plans and directs park maintenance operations. Establishes maintenance goals and plans method to accomplish projects. Prepares annual budget and monitors actual expenditures.
Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in business administration or parks and recreation is preferred. Management and/or supervisory experience is required as well as significant experience in park and/or recreation operations. Strong people skills, particularly in dealing with the public and/or “guests,” are required. Experience in budgeting, computers and personnel management is required. Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license. Ohio Peace Officer’s certification is desirable.
