One of the best weekends of the summer is just around the corner.
And the best place to enjoy it is at Charles Mill Lake Park near Mansfield.
The park will host a full slate of activities during the upcoming Fourth of July holiday weekend, including its annual giant fireworks show on July 2 (Saturday) at dusk.
Events kick off on July 1 (Friday) with bingo for adults and children beginning at 7 p.m. in the park’s beach shelter.
On July 2 (Saturday), beach volleyball and sand races are scheduled to begin at noon, with plenty of games on the beach – including limbo, sand castle building, ice bucket race and more – to follow at 3 p.m. The beach stage will be rocking with music by Minds Eye View at 3 p.m., followed by the reggae band Outlaws I at 7 p.m. The fireworks show will cap off the night.
Events on July 3 (Sunday) include an adult horseshoe tournament at 2 p.m., basketball games at 2:30 p.m., a T-ball game at 4:30 p.m. and Pokeno Night beginning at 7 p.m.
Overnight camping is available and the park’s swimming beach will be open all weekend.
