A project to repair a damaged section of Harrison County Rd. 55 has created a detour for campers and guests planning to visit Tappan Lake Park near Deersville.
Officials said County Rd. 55 could be closed for up to a couple of weeks while repairs are made to a slip on the road located off Rt. 250, which is the primary artery for Tappan Lake Park.
During the construction, officials advise campers and guests to use the following alternative routes to the park:
From the east – Take Harrison County Rd. 2 west at the intersection of Rt. 22. Follow to Deersville and the entrance to the park.
From the west – Take Eastlick Rd. off Rt. 250 at the west end of the lake (at Tappan Dam) and follow to Harrison County Rd. 2. Turn left and follow to Deersville and the entrance to the park.
